Truck engine into Tractor

Will a DT466 out of a truck or bus bolt into a 4166(436)? Will a 414 out of a 915 combine?

The 436 is completely beyond repair, oil plug vibrated out and it seized up.

The basic engine will fit but you may need to to change a lot of exterior parts such as the front and rear mounting plates, manifold(s) injection pump. oil pickup tube and oil pan.

Yes, you will need to strip the truck engine down to the long block, and bolt all the tractor parts off the DT436 on to the truck engine.

They're the same block, but the mounts and accessories are completely different.

Thanks, that is what I figured, but wanted to make sure before I bought any parts.

My wife might freak out if she came home to a school bus sitting in the drive with no good use for it.

You could always make it a cattle hauler :D

for that matter I could tell her it was the new station wagon. She told me she wanted another baby... Don't think another will fit in our current car :D
