Anyone ever have this problem with wear between the hub and spline on the 22-36 transmission. Tom In Iowa is restoring one of these and has a spare tractor and is seeing the same amount of wear on the parts from the spare tractor. The 15-30 probably used the same parts. He's looking for spare parts if someone has parts that's not worn if they have a parts tractor. Has anyone ever welded the spline on both sides of the hub? Would this hamper reassembly? Hal

mine is worn the same way. welding might be tricky to get it back in perfect alighnment with the worn sline, and welding warpage and pull.

A set if L shaped shims (machined) would be less intrusive, and easier to make to take up the space. Jim

Did you just reassemble the parts as worn and run it? Hal
PS: Tom doesn't plan on using it as a working tractor when it's completed. He doesn't want this to fail either.

It is a long way from failing. It should only bang when letting on and off the clutch or going forward to reverse etc. Once the pressure is on it there SHOULDN'T be any banging.

yes, i put it together as is , cause i just wanted the tractor operational due to a stuck clutch. and yes when letting out the clutch you get a jerk otherwise ok.
