Iam looking for the # off of a WD-9 starter it is a 1950 and a Delco-Remy, the tag is damaged on mine and the parts book does not show it...thanks in advance..

My wd9 manual show 1108943 and I have 3 startors
and 2 with no plate one and the other I can't see the # on but it is a DELCO and the housing drive # on is 1878774

Any word on your second rebuild shop? Try Maxim in Burlington. They might be cheaper even after the shipping. Don't forget about USPS flat rate boxes.

My Wilson book shows #1108925 for 1944 - 1951. Number 1108944 for 1952 - 1956.

My Delco manuals show 1108925 and 1108944 use a two piece coil set, # 38275 and #38276. 1108943 uses a three piece soil set. #16818, 16819, and 16820.

1108925 and 1108944 show using 1892344 for a starter drive number. 1108943 uses drive number 1932606. I did not come up with a cross for 1932606 or 1878774 so I can't tell what they look like.

Thanks for everyones help..The fields are bad and the starter gear teeth are bad..This is the third shop they are all within 10 miles of each other..1.$175+ to look at it and clean it up. 2.$275 and last $230 to have it like new again, that would be to clean it up replace the fields and drive gear..used are 100+..I just might have to bite the bullet.
