Farmall Model M Tractor

I manage a ranch that has a Model M tractor, serial# FBK-194731X1B, sitting in a pasture. My boss would like to get ride of it. He says the engine is definitely froze up. The body is rusting and it has been out in the weather for years. He says he had a gentleman offer $1000 a few years ago for the tractor but he didnt sell. We are curious to know what a tractor of that model and year is worth, even with a froze engine. I can send pics to anyone of interest if needed.

Price can vary, condition is everything. Also location plays a big part. If you post pictures on here it we can give a better idea. But with what you said $1000 seems a bit much to me IMO. But if you are close to western PA i might be interested.

1949 model built to burn gasoline with pistons for 5000 ft. elevation.
If its a plain jane M with no attachments or aftermarket goodies and so,so tires, thats to high for my area. Of coarse it could have some added parts or nice tires and rims and be worth more than that.

I would've taken 1,000 and ran as fast as I could. I'd say if the tires are decent (50% or more tread) 500-800

tm barker 3, plane jane M, stuck motor, I will bet the tires are shot too, $500 absolute tops unless scrap price is higher. If I was offering I wouldn't give over $400 just my opinion.
Your boss should have taken the $1000 when it was offered, It is not worth that today unless you part it out, piece by piece.

Saw one sell at an auction not that long ago that started right up, sounded good, had usable tires and looked pretty good for $1200. Your boss should have grabbed the $1000 and never looked back... he had a sucker.

Juust an isolated case:last year,I purchaced a 1945 M,wide front,3 point,tin beatup(but not too bad),runs good,and 2 nearly new rear tires....$800
