JD 71 Cub Fast Hitch Planter

what do you guys think? i know it's green :( but on the up side it didnt cost any money :) i slid one of my dads planter units on the toolbar of my cub. the toolbar used to have disc hillers on it but i pulled them off for the time being. im thinking of sliding the other planter unit on the other side of the toolbar.

I doubt i have depth troubles. i should get it to run even when i adjust the front of the fasthitch. But well see this spring

The cam on the right hand side of the planter frame is what sets your depth. Just adjust your hitch stop to run the toolbar about 16" off the ground and you'll get along fine.

Made the same unit years ago that I had on our 560. Had an oops when planting corn and had some major skips. Still don't trust monitors. Worked great for planting the skips and I have to admit that it was kinda fun.

If you put two on there, make sure they are far enough apart to cultivate.

I have a 2 row Cole 12MX planter in storage, has a welded New Holland fast hitch toolbar that looks similar
