The frame serial number is FBK196211X1 it should be a 1949 model. The engine serial number is FBKM188511X1. Do they use the X1 when ordering parts? What does it stand for.Is there away to tell if the engine has flat or stepped head pistons by serial numbers. Thank's For Any Help.

1st answer, No, each engine has separate part numbers. Part numbers, not suffixes are used in ordering. 2nd answer, Gasoline engine as opposed to kerosene or distillate. 3rd answer, no.

Wouldnt they all be flat tops, except for the 5000 and 8000ft pistons, which are indicated by an X code, the specific one(s) escape me at the moment? Having said that, the pistons have probably been changed at some point in time.
