I got bored today and tinkered with my H. I took the grill off to suck some oil out of the front pedestal as I filled it up to much with oil and its been drippin out but I also decided that I was going to repack the bearings tomorrow. The front left spindel cap has been leakin oil out around the cap for a while. Why is this leaking oil? I thought that these just held grease? or does the front spindel have oil all the way through? I'm just woundering so when I take the cap off tomorrow I don't have a lap full of oil. Thanks

It uses grease. But, depending on conditions, and what kind of grease was used, something appearing to be oil can drip. I have never seen a wheel do that, but I have grease guns that drip a little, and have noticed it in other places too.

Ok thanks. It could be water but I hope not cuz that would not be good. I should have repacked em when I restored it last year but they spun forever so I decided to leave em be for a while.
