I have a 706 Gas 263 Farmall. Rebuilt the carb to specs and adjusted the float to specs. Had to re-do the float because it was getting too much gas. Ran good for a short time. Now when I have too feed and in order for the tractor to run I have to run the tractor with the choke out or it will die. Push the choke in and it dies and will not start until the choke is pulled out on the way. When the choke is out there is no black smoke coming from the exhaust. Any suggestions?

Ran 656 and 706 a lot when a kid - agree, fuel solenoid most likely problem. Check flow from tank to carb with new solenoid installed. Make sure your float is not sticking (would usually stick "up" making engine run too rich). Make sure it is not sticking "down".

I have replaced the electric solenoid on my 806 gas with a adjustable needle from a 450 carb, this works well for me, and gives you some adjustment.
