has any welded a fasthitch point to a toolbar and added a planter unit or two? if so could you post pictures? do you think a cub could handle a two row planter if it didn't have fertilizer? thanks

Cole, now covington I think, made a 1 point hitch corn planter, but it doesnt say if it fits a cub. Bundle 46-672 Part # 46-711 It is basically the point with a metal plate welded to the bottom it. 2 pieces of plate (2 x 10 it looks like) are welded vertically and to the stop on the point.

The 2 row corn planter we had for the 140 fasthitch used a toolbar for a 2 row New Holland tobacco planter.

One consideration when doing a two-row is, where do you mount the units?

At typical garden row width settings (i.e. 36"-40" spacing), if you mount the planter units centered on the tractor, they will be planting in the packed ruts from the rear wheels. It won't work well unless you set the tread width out extremely wide on the Cub.

With a single unit, you can center it between the tires, where it will have the maximum amount of "virgin" (unpacked) ground to plant in.

I have a 2 row planter on my cub. I modified the planter to adapt to the 1 point fast hitch. The ferilizer attachment is mounted to the tractor. I have pictures that I will post.
