STOCK tire sizes on a super C

I have a super C that i am restoring, and i bought 4.00x15 front tires for it,which is the same i have on my BN. later i realized that the SC actually had 5.00x15 tires on it. Did they offer both sizes,or did i go to small? It has 11.2x36 on the rear so i'm thinkin it will look just fine

4.00-15 would be pretty small. Not sure if Super's had slightly larger tires or not, but C's typically had 5.00-15's on them. I have seen anything from 4.00-15 up to 5.50-15's on them. 11.2-36 would be correct for the rear.

Both are fine.

One MIGHT want to run 4s on a regular narrow front, or run 5s set out on adjustable narrow fronts. Narrow or wide front, it's all accordin' to what you want.

At least as of the '54 season, the standard tires for a Super C were 5.00-15 and 10-36.

Front options included 4.00-15, 4.00-19, 6.50-16 (WFE) and single 6.00-12 and 7.50-10.

Rear options included 9-36, 10-36 6-ply and 11-36 6-ply rice.

Standard tire size on Super C was 10 (11.2) x 36 rear and 5.00 x 15 front. Optional sizes were 9 (9.5) x 36 and 8 (8.3) x 36 rear and 4.00 x 15 front.

I think C's can look goofy with too small of front tire. I run 5.00-15 fronts and 11.2x36 rears on my C. You can get an idea of the size and width of the fronts with these pictures.

I have 4.00 15 on mine. I goofed up when I brought them and didn't want to make the 100 mile round trip to exchange them. It had 5.00 15 on which I think is what came on it. They have been working fine though but I would put the 5.00 on if you have the choice. I asked on here about it and was told they would be fine if I don't have mounted cultivators or something heavy on the front. I think the 5.00 look better on it.
