Does anyone out there have a good source for plow parts like Shares and Landsides for the IH Little Genius plows? Thanks for any recommendations!!

What style bottom do you have? is it plow chief or just good old blaksmith shares? If it is the blacksmith shares I have weld on nose pieces new. Might have some landslides but need to know what you have and then what size bottoms as well. Dwayne

If you are looking for original styles and not the stuff you can find locally in the farm stores, then places like eBay are about the only hope. No one currently has anything. You can rework them yourself with a welder and iron. Landsides you can make out of flat iron. Not hardened, but they will last a fair time for antique plowing.

Nobody is currently producing replacement parts for the Little Genius plow bottoms.

Shares pop up on ebay from time to time, but there are so many different ones you need to make sure that you get the right one, or it won't fit. Plus they usually bring near $100 apiece, because people desperate for parts run the bid up.

The only IH plow bottom with parts currently in production is the Super Chief. You can get new parts at your local CaseIH dealer, Tractor Supply, Weise, and several other online sources.

What you need to do is keep your eye out for a newer IH plow with the Super Chief bottoms, buy it cheap, and transfer the bottoms to your Little Genius. They will bolt right on.

In the meantime, you can shore up the worn areas by welding on steel. Even a badly worn bottom will do a lot of plowing at an antique plow day... They usually don't plow very deep and you don't make very many rounds before the field is plowed.

My two Little Genius plows are both rope trip plows on rubber. One is a 2-14 and the other is a 3-16. I'm just learning about these plows so don't know what kind of bottoms I have. If I look for shares on ebay I guess I can just use the casting numbers off the old ones, is that correct? I just use the plows to play once in a while and at plow days but want to preserve them and keep them in good shape. Any other pointers or info. you guys can give me about these old plows would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks, Jim!!
