I saw this little BN for sale on craigslist. I dont know a lot about BNs but it looks really narrow compared to the ones I see in my neck of the woods.Is it some kind of a vineyard model or somthing else ?

Nope, it's a BN that's been shortened up on the left side by using the shorter diff shaft of an A so that the final drive can be bolted up directly to the tranny/diff. Can be mighty tippy to the left.

No, somebody removed the left-side differential shaft and housing and bolted the left-side final drive directly to the differential, then probably put an "A" drawbar on it.
Or, they might have put a "B" or "BN" steering bolster on an "A".
Pretty much the same difference either way, I just hope they put the cast wheel on the right-hand side to keep it ballanced.

Good point about the A-BN conversion possibility. A good look at the right side of the grille might be telling on which way they went about it.

Good little mowing tractor! I put alot of hrs on one as a kid! Just have to be care which side you put in the ditch!

I have both an A and a Bn. But the draw bar looks like an A. I also bought parts from a guy that was making an A with the Bn parts. They both have the same engines and other items. If the belly mower works then I would go for it. From what I see it is not in bad shape. Looks like it might tip on a hill but other than that nice tractor.

That tractor is a BN but the left diff housing and axle have been removed. The drawbar has been narrowed also. The tractor is now the same width as the A. I have made some like that with the narrow front it works well for mowing. Those little tractors could be changed in a bunch of ways depending on their use. My personal one has 245.x15 rear tires and a new shorter front pedestal. Works well mows 5A.
