I put a new clutch and TA in my 560 about 5 years ago. The tractor doesnt get used much I was recently using it and the clutch stopped working. I am wondering if I need to replace both the clutch and the Ta at the same time?

Thanks

Explain "stopped working"???

Will it not stop when disengaged?

Does it not move when engaged?

How many hours since the rebuild?

well a time frame means nothing. its all in the proper adjustment and use of the clutch and the operator. some can go for years and years , even for life of the tractor , and the next guy can wear out a clutch in months or days. i am talking about the same tractor just different operators.its not normally required to replace both, as this depends on the above also. for a proper diagnosis , should have an experienced mechanic do a hands on diagnosis.

Replace only what is broken. There is no need to replace both at the same time unless both are broken.

Please explain what you mean by "stopped working."

When I push the clutch pedal in the tractor keeps going and the only way I can stop or shift the tractor is if I shut the tractor off.

Take cover off under clutch and take a look. Most likely a pin worked part way out of clutch finger which can be repaired from underneath. Some times pins are put in wrong direction so they cut off cotter key. Could be busted finger, all fingers and throw out bearing shelled out or piece of the clutch disc came loose and is lodged between pressure plate and flywheel.
