i have 1466 ih wich everything has ran perfect, went out to move it the other day it wont steer or drive, the 3 point and remote works, but steering hydraulic seat and drive reverse or forward wont work,im stumped, only thing is its been realy cold a few days in the-degrees,so i waited til 5o degrees and still no joy this tractor has a ta.can any one give me aome insight.

Water in the system = ICE blockage. Either wait till its warmer or get it in a heated garage, then change the fluids.

If the hydraulic fluid is at the full mark, put an extra 5 gallons in it. There is a good chance the Secondary Pump (steering and other stuff) is sucking air through a bad Oring or other loss of prime. The extra will not hurt anything, but may solve the issue. If this does not fix it, look towards bleeding the MCV valve (see Archives for details) The pump drive could be sheared if it was frozen and started. Jim

Had an old IH mechanic tell me that these tractors came from the factory over filled. We have always attempted to keep our 1466 over filled. It really does make a difference.

I never had any tractor come in new off semi-truck with too much Hytran, in fact at IH & Dealer meetings common complaint on tractors was they were always low on Hytran by at least 5 gallon, IH claimed truck driver was stealing it, Dealers said he must be busy guy to be getting at that many tractors. You figure 5 gal per tractor by couple 100 a day they saved a lot of $.
