Lift-All Seal

Is the seal pretty tough to change on the lift-all? I have to order another seal and I might just replace that one as long as the lift-all is already out. I would hate to have to lift it again if it leaks!

Hi, I was wondering in order to replace this seal did you have to split the tractor? I have a super H and all around the pump it leaks. Its a real gusher so I know I need to get it fixed, but I was just wondering if somebody with the same experience could give me some advice.

No need to split the tractor. You do need (at least it is easiest, I'm not positive it is a must) to drop the "Lift-All" pump. To do this just get a buddy and put a jack under it. Put a slight pressure on it with the jack and undo the four bolts and pipes etc. "Removal steps should be apparent" I'm sorry, too much of the worthless I&T manual today. You will need the jack to help you lower it bc it is fairly heavy. One guy runs the jack while the other guy holds the pump steady. Others have used four hunks of all thread if they are by themselves.

(quoted from post at 19:01:53 02/05/11) easy job, make sure to get the gasket for the pump as was well.

Can't really read it in the pic, but the thing called "RESERVOIR GASKET" or someting else? Towards the left just right of the really big chuck of metal.

Thanks for the help. It does not look as bad as I thought it would be. And I definitely agree with you about I&T manuals.

Nowhere yet, I was going to get the seals at Bearings Inc in Elkhorn, WI. Maybe I better see if I can even get one from CNH before I ruin the old one!

Knock the seal out, try not to destroy the numbers or write them down and take it to any good bearing house. I got mine at the local house for less than half what the dealer wanted for the EXACT SKF seal.

Same with any other seals I have bought for the Farmall

That is what I have been doing as well. They are usually half of CNH. Like my "$225" axle bearing from CNH. Got them at the local bearing house for ONLY $110 each.
You've got to support your dealer, but you also have to look out for you!
