front wheel rim bolts for H-M-350

Hi Guys! I am changing from wide front end ,to row crop narrow pedistal type, so I can get the turning radius, that I want, on my 1956 350. I bought the pedestal, and front rims, with cast centers, from a guy in texas, and when I got them, they were minus the bolts-- clamps, or whatever, that secures the rims to the cast centers. I am not familiar to farmalls, and don't know what they look like. I went to YT parts, and they wanted $27.00+ for the clamps or bolts, or whatever they are. There are 6 loops on two rims, which would require 6 units to do the job. I really don't intend to spend over $165.00. to buy what I need. Can anyone put me straight, on where to get the 6 units that I need , at a little cheaper price? RALPH

From your description all you need are 6 bolts, 6 nuts and 6 lock washers -- just do to the nearest hardware store and buy them.

My parts catalog shows the bolts are 5/8" x 2 1/2" coarse thread. I think IH went to fine threads for the 350. The book also calls for square head, but I have hex head on all of mine. You will want grade 5 or better. 6 bolts, 6 nuts, and 6 lock washers MIGHT cost $10 at the local farm store.

I looked at the YT "clamp lock nut" I have no idea what it is but it is 7/8 14 size and I have never seen anything like that on front wheels. Might be for rear wheel but sounds too big for that even. If you have standard 350 centers and wheels CNKS and Rusty have you covered.

If you have the standard 350 cast wheels they used grade 5, fine thread, 5/8 dia. hex head bolts 2-3/4 long. Thin flat machine washer and a lock washer was used under the nut. If you have the hubs like most H used with the thinner area where the bolts pass through the shorter bolts of some different types were used.
Whats you see on YT is a nut for the spindle to adjust and retain the bearings. Most standard bolts are 2-1/2 or 3 inches long so use what works the best for you.

Now that sounds a lot more like it! From what I was seeing, it looked like 6- 5/8" diameter bolts should have worked. After looking at YT parts, I was confused, with the word clamps. Thanks guys, now I'll run down to Ace Hardware and get what I need.
