Clutch install advice needed

I put a 400 engine in my M, used a super M clutch disc so that it was 12" and had correct spline, and used my pressure plate from 400 (removed extra splined hub for pto). I put everything into it and now I have no clutch. I still have the M through-out bearing in it. When I push in the clutch pedal it barely touches the pressure plate with the bearing right at the end of the stroke. Anyone have any idea what is going on?????wrong bearing, wrong clutch, .... Thank you

Are you sure you have the correct side of the clutch disc facing toward the flywheel? Hal

Fingers are different on on some of those plates, If you can't adjust the finger height to work the only option without taking back apart is to lengthen the M operating rod or shorten 400 rod to distance needed and sometimes space the release bearing carrier forward a little.
I have 2 M with 400 PP and SM CP that worked without any plate adjustments. One operating rod is adjusted out about the limit on length though. They have 2 types of fingers.
