Super M add-on?

Was looking at a friend's Super M today.

It has a gadget on the right side of the engine just below and toward the engine's rear from the distributor. I've never seen that before.

It is plumbed into the side of the block and has a wire connected to frame and another wire going into the electrical box on the steering post.

My guess is that it's an ignition shut-off if the engine looses oil pressure.

The tractor isn't running so I couldn't test my "theory".

If it is indeed an ignition shut-off would that be a standard Super M part?

If it's plumbed into a oil gallery with a switch in it, it's probably for an electric hour meter which was an accessory.

an oil pressure switch wire sometimes is used to excite the alternator--when the pressure goes off it eliminates drained batterys-- you can stay with original switch---or it could just be a 12 volt oil pressure switch
