H seat spring

Seat spring broke when I was plowing snow. What a ride.... Anyway, anyone got one they wanna sell I'd be interested. Thanks, Shawn.

I think I have one laying around in the barn somewhere. If I do, if you want to cover the shipping you can have it. I'll look tomorrow.

I bought a new one last year at CaseIH and the price isn't all that bad, really surprised me. Of course things keep going up. I bought the heavy one but I am not actually heavy enough for it at 160 lbs.

Have one of those on my H and I'm always worried the nuts gonna come off the top and that spring is gonna shoot up and I'll be leanin up on the seat to far and would take the boys or my jaw with it. lol irrational fear

I have that kind of irrational fear whenever I run a table saw or radial arm saw. I can just see it coming flying off at me, even though it never does.

I should have looked at ebay first. Didn't even think about it. Faster346, thanks for the offer, but keep yours. Never know if you'll need it. It's the coil spring under the seat. My snowplow is rear mounted, so I was twisted around and backing up when it let go, with only one hand on the wheel. It didn't shoot out, just broke, I dropped like a rock, and away we went. Think I'm gonna change the shock too. I give it about a 7 for a pucker factor. Just glad it didn't happen in 5th on the road.

I've actually never heard of a seat spring breaking. I always have this fear of the seat itself or the pan breaking and falling off the back while I'm driving.

Those with the "heavy" spring, is it really that different? At 6'5'' and 280lbs I'm sure I could look into that.

Shawn, if it is the Monroe type seat, I will give you one. I will be in Conneaut Lake this weekend. Send me your phone number in an email, and I'll bring one with me. I'll call you when I get there.

From one heavy guy to another, the "heavy" spring ain't gonna cut it.

Try rolling two springs together. We've got one like that and it rides nice.

Tom, I sent you an email. Yea I"m about 160. i don"t know if I"d be heavy enough to move 2 springs. Thanks for the tip though. Shawn

Why on earth would you take a chance on a welded one when you have a new one. They don't break that often. Put the new one on and throw the old one in the scrap heap.

I weigh 230# and the heavy spring does just fine. I've even got 2 brand new springs for sale.

How much!?

i have seen guys stick a football in the spring, then adjust the air pressure on the football for ride comfort. works pretty good.

Good friend and neighbor was killed that way. His seat actually broke at the base. When he fell off the steering wheel went hard over and the tractor kept turning in circles. Ran over him many times.

He was a WWII vet and survived some bad stuff in the Pacific to get killed by an ole Farmall.
