Farmall A/C belt pulley

Is the belt pulley gear drive unit used on an A the same as the one used on a C?

Yes, I think they are the same. However if you are getting a unit to put on tractor that does not have the belt pulley, be sure you get the pinion gear that goes on the PTO unit shaft as well as the belt pulley unit. According to my info, the pinion gear has 19 teeth and the belt pulley shaft gear has 23 teeth. The earlier A tractors have a different part number, but the number of teeth are the same, so I think they would work also.

Some parts will work but the shift tube is different for the C. It would be better to get one from a C. Earlier ones mite be the same. You wont realy know till its apart.

The shift tube and input shaft are different. The rest may be the same depending on which verson PTO the A has. The A differences were threshed out last month in this thread:
