Help hydraulic pump has a bad wineing noise when turning steering wheel seems to be low oil going to the brake system the rear remotes and 3point hitch seem to work fine. I have replaced the transfer pump and screen replaced filter and oil and replaced parking brake band and cleand all debrie out of trans case i have checked valves in MCV and i have the oil level 3/4 the way up the stick.any help please Thanks

Hi Darren, a whining noise is usually air in the system. So no whining when you operate 3pt or remotes? Are you sure it is not the relief valve opening? The PS has a 1500 PSI relief valve and the 3pt and remotes have a 2500 PSI relief valve, Both are located on the MCV valve, on caseih.com 674 parts plate 10-18 item 6 is PS relief valve, item 25 is 3pt and remote relief valve. Re low oil to brake system, this again could be caused by PS relief valve problems because PBs are fed from return line of oil cooler, which is fed from PS flow. There is a screen and restrictor in the PB piping, see plate 14-01 item 24. There is also a flow and pressure test on the oil cooler return line.

Hope this helps

Hello JimB looked at the PS relief valve today and tried one from a working 574 tractor with no luck thinking of trying another pump and MCV but would rather not if you can think of anything else it would be greatly appriciated thanks Darren

Hi Darren,it is very puzzling that the 3pt and remotes work good. The only difference for PS is the MCV splitting off 3 GPM for the PS, PB and oil cooler. So as soon as you turn the steering wheel the hydraulics start making a vibrating noise?
Is the PS smooth or jerky? Is the noise the same as when the PS limits in one direction. Also try dead heading the remote when turning the PS as this will force more oil towards the PS circuit.

Hi JimB steering is not jerking feels ok but when your not turning it and thers no movement of the steering wheel it starts whineing louder it quiets some when you turn steering wheel again and when you dead head the remote it quiets down thinking i need to check pressures with a gauge even when you dead head the remote there is some whinning not the normel buzzing sound. Thanks again Darren
