2410B Hydraulic Flow

Does anyone know the flow route in the transmission on a 2410 industrial. It has a synchromeh tranny. It uses a pump to shift to forward and reverse. The flow on the pump is what I am looking for. The manuels do not show the flow route. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, Don

Hi DW, I believe the 2410B Industrial model is based on 454 ag model. The 454 came with an optional T/A or "Fast Fwd/Rev". To find a parts list of the hydraulic pump go to caseih.com search for parts right here 454 search then under Hydraulics look at page 10-22: 454 INTERNATIONAL SE / 10-22 HYDRAULICS, HYDRAULIC PUMP AND CONNECTIONS, TRACTORS WITH FORWARD AND REVERSE.
I believe 454 is same as 684 and hydraulic pump for Fwd/Rev is fed from the return line from the hydraulic oil cooler. There is also a test port and pressure adjustment under the torque tube.

Thanks JimB. I will check that out. I pulled the top off the trany today and started the tractor. The pump is moving a ton of liquid. I guess it is just not going where it needs to, to shift. I may have to pull out the shifing part of the tranny to see if something is wrong. I guess the shifting part is like an automatic trans? I have never seen one of these. If you have any other input I would love to here it.

DW, the fluid you saw moving in the transmission was either the transmission lube pump or the return from the main hydraulic pump. The 2410B should have two transmissions, the speed and range transmissions.
Power flow is clutch->T/A or Fwd/Rev ->Speed trans(gears 1-4) ->Range trans(Lo/Hi/Rev)->Diff.

What is the problem with your 3410B?

Jim, the problem is that it will not shift in forward or reverse. When it is in either gear and you let the clutch out it acts like it wants to move backwards. It moves about 1/2 inch if that much. You can bareley see the back wheels move. The tractor has a high/low for the rear end. It has 1-4 manuel shift in the tranny. It has the shifter beside the steering wheel for forward/reverse. This lifts or pushes a valve in the very front of the tranny. I hope this makes sense. I dont think it is the clutch because I have not smeled any burning like it is slipping. What bothers me is it wants to go backward in forward gear.

DW, go to caseih.com parts and search on model 2400 and you will find the Fwd-Rev under drive train.
My brother has a 684 with T/A which is very similar to the Fwd-Rev as it was activated by lever on left of steering column. The only difference T/A reduces ground speed by 20% giving a shift on the go Hi/Lo in every gear turning the 8 speed into 16 speed + 8 rev. I looked at Fwd-Rev parts diagram and it installs in the same location as T/A but has two hydraulic clutch packs and an extra counter shaft to provide the rev.
It is very difficult to tell if it is the clutch or Fwd-Rev. Usually if you put trans in 1st gear Lo range and tractor is on the level, even if the clutch is bad the tractor will move unless the springs are shot on pressure plate. There is an inspection plate on bottom of clutch housing where you can see a little of clutch operation.
Does tractor change attempted direction if you change the Fwd-Rev lever?

If you email me at [email protected], I will scan hydraulic test procedure for 684 T/A which should be very similar to 2410B Fwd-Rev.
