Ball bearing or Roller bearings?

Does anyone know if you can still get ball bearings? Or do the roller bearings replace all the ball bearing now days?

napa can get most ball bearings just need the number off the old one,if you can't read the numbers or they can't match them i usually carry them to a bearing distributor they generally can match them

Can definetly still get ball bearings as roller bearings, flat, tapered, or needle are application specific as are ball bearings.

In the machine world, ball bearings are far more common than plain roller. This is partially due to the fact that ball bearings can handle some thrust but are used mainly for radial loads. Yep, tapered rollers can handle lots of thrust and radial when used in pairs. Bearing selection depends on application.

I buy my bearings on eBay. Brand names that are way cheaper than your local outlet. Import bearings that are cheaper still. VXB (or is it VBX) is one eBay store. Email any vendor to cross your number.
