Still lookin

Found an 806 turbo diesel online. It's got no TA and the side pieces of the hood are missing (the pieces that the International sign bolt to). It does have a cab and ok tires but it's definetly showing it's age. The add says it's a "good runner". Would it be a bad decision to inquire about this since it doesn't have a TA? by that I mean would the power difference without the TA kinda make it a turd? They want 3600 for it which I think isn't a terrible price but what do you guys think?

Tyler: It depends what you want a tractor for. Some people would prefer a 806 without a TA. It shouldn't be to hard to find side panels for a 06 series tractor. The price is good. If the no TA doesn't matter, then go for it. Kent

The TA is definitely an asset when baling as you can shift down for the heavy spots. I have a SMTA and use the TA a lot on the baler

I have an SMTA also and had to think on it but I rarely use the TA when baling anymore. Had to come to the conclusion that if I was pulling on the TA a lot while baling I was probably raking my rows too heavy for my baler. I rely on the IPTO more when baling. The point is...you can probably live without it. The TA I mean.

I love the ta on my 460 but hated the ta the 756 i had, it worked but was always making a whining noise i thought. just my 2 cents but the ta on my 460 is going to be great for bailing this summer.
