I am tearing down my 52 sc and dicovered that the water pump pulley dont line up with the crankshaft pulley. The guy I bought it from said he just put a new pump on it...but I didnt catch that it was out of line...it sits about a half a pulley too far forward. I made sure it was bottomed out on the w.p.shaft.Was there more than one model water pump for this sc or do I just have a bad w.p? It works but it makes the belt run in a bind...thanks guys for any help!!! POWERLINE

The body of the pump for the C and Super C are the same but the parts books shows different shafts for the Super C

Could it be the pump you have is for a C and not a Super C since there are some differences.

The water pump shaft listed for the C is 355767R91.
The Super C is listed as 362101R91 and to use shaft 362038R1 with serial number FCM 203383 and up.

I would talk to the dealer about the two pumps.

Thanks, Guys!
I hope this isn"t Karma coming back to bite me in the butt because of how I basically stole this tractor. The last owner buggered up some things on the SC, but nothing I can"t fix.
Thanks again...I will be in touch!

Your water pump pulley should not line up with the crankshaft pulley.

The crankshaft pulley lines up with one of the fan pulleys. The other pulley on the fan drives the belt for the generator and the water pump.

Generator and water pump are driven by the same belt.

No, the water pump is driven by the fan belt. If it was driven by the generator belt, the pulley would have to be back farther than the fan belt pulleys, not forward of them.

Jim,

I have a B with a Super C water pump on it and I would have sworn on a stack of bibles and bet serious money that the generator belt also drove the water pump.

I would have lost the bet, I had it wrong. The fan belt drives the water pump, just like you said.

I finally got through the snow to the shed and remembered to look at the B. The water pump is definitely driven by the fan belt. You would think that I would have remembered that, since I'm the one who put the water pump on there and bought the fan belt to fit it. The set up on it is identical to a Super C.

You were right, and I was wrong and all I can do is plead old age and failing memory is to blame.

I'm sorry if I lead anybody astray. I try to only post when I am sure of the correct answer. I sure didn't have it on this one.
