IH 606 Drawbar

In have a 1965 IH 606 that came with the drawbar system off the tractor. It has a flat bar with pre-drilled holes that fits between the lift arms of the 3 point in a perpendicular fashion to the PTO that I can add clevis pins, tow balls etc but it rotates in the 3 pt arms. there is another "drawbar" that appears to attach up under the transmission and then lay across a perpendicular frame about under the PTO shaht. It also has what appears to be a quick attach system in a bell type coupler under the transmisson that I assumed the end of the drawbar went into. The trouble is I can not get the end of the drawbar in the bell coupler at all and the pin does not go up to allow it even if I could get it in. Is there a release on the pin to allow for attachment and is it where the forward end of the drawbar is supposed to attach in the first place? Hate asking a dumb question but I just do not understand what this is supposed to look like. Thanks in advance. Doug
 
Doug, I just looked on the case ih web site and there is a good picture of all the part and layout you should head over and take a look.

The original belly drawbar (that you definitely want if you ever use the PTO) is quite different from that 3-pt style drawbar. If you would hope to use that 3-pt drawbar as a standard drawbar, you'd have to torch or otherwise cut off both ends and after attaching in the bell, have the pull pin hole 14 in back from end of PTO shaft. Easier to try to find the proper drawbar.
 
I do believe the bar that I assumed goes into the release pin under the transmission is the original drawbar. I am also remembering that one end of the bar is curved up and am thinking I may have the darn thing in backwards. I jumped the gun and put a 2 5/8 inch ball in the pull pin hole and am thinking I did indeed screw up. Well anyway thanks to both of you I'll get it figured out.
