I have a 1958 340 Utility with a good hydraulic leak on the valve assembly that sits on top of the transmission. Its driven by the engine style pump. The part numbers are showing 330 parts with the 340 set up. How difficult is it to repair? I only know 9n stuff. Thanks for your time.

Those valves are easy to repair, just hard to get off of the tractor. You will need a strong helper or a hoist to get them off of the tractor and on the bench, but then its easy. As far as I know, all of the parts are still available, as those valves were used on many different models before and after the 340. They are all simply squeezed together by some long bolts and sealed with o-rings and gaskets. take them apart, replace the o-rings and gaskets (and any of the hard pats that are worn out or broke) and put it all back together. Be careful, though- it's a heavy assembly.

Funny thing, I'm an N guy myself. Have a 2N and a 340U. Those 340 parts are a lot heavier than the N ones :)
