I have a 400 with a Schwartz wide front. I need to replace one of the hubs. My wide front is a DU 300
which I believe may have been made for H 300, 350. I still have the hubs from my original narrow front, but they will not fit. Do I need to find hubs from a H 300 or 350? Guess I thoght H 300, 350 were the same as M 400, 450

Is there a casting number on the hub? I think you can get replacement hubs from A&I and maybe Tisco dealers.

There is some information out there that would lead one to believe the Hs, Ms, 300s, 450s, etc. do all use the same hub, and even the I.H. parts books do show that the same hub COULD be used on both the H and the M, but I have never yet seen an M that does have the same hub as an H, so yes, you do need to find a hub from an H, 300, 350.

Hopefully you do not plan to install a loader on that 400? The spindles probably will not hold up if you do.

The hubs are a mess to figure out, Swartz/A&I could be bought with their own 6 bolt hub, or could use 460 or 560, all different, H-350 not same as M-450, you will have to determine spindle number which is usually stamped on side of brng area on stub, 3/4 nc or 7/8 nc on older tractors, newer 3/4 nf or 7/8 nf on newer. Hub casting might help also, I wish you luck.

Not too hard to figure out. The heavy duty DU400 uses the six bolt hubs. The standard duty DU400 as well as the DU300 use the hubs that are already on the tractors narrow front.

Thanks for the replys!! I had the wide front for about 4 years now, just use it for moving and feeding round bales, so far it has worked out pretty well. Thanks again!
