Farmall H corn picker hydraulic cylinder

well i finally got the belly lift for the picker mounted up and freed up. i now have a IH hydraulic cylinder underneath of it. the cylinder is a two way with one hole capped. im almost thinking that the cap is some sort of vent? have you seen anything like this cap? also to use the cylinder with one way hydraulics should there be a plug on one end or a vent? thanks

It is a vent, making it a one way cylinder.

it's a model 34HM-20 i planning on getting it all mounted up this spring then selling it with the tractor to free up some space. dad says no more tractors until some go
