H engine to w4

Hi Guys, I am planning to put an engine from an H into a w4. From what I understand the front timing gear cover has to be switched. Will it bolt right on, or do I have to modify the H block to get it to fit properly?

The blocks are the same. Just swap out the front covers and you're good to go.
 
You will have to change both the front cover and the rear plate. The front cover has a one or two piece bracket that mounts around the crank shaft and then mounts to the cast tub. This is your front engine mount. The plate on the back has two arms that stick out around the flywheel. This is bolted and pinned to the rear of the cast tub. There are some shims that go in under the front mount to get the engine into alignment. I have yet to figure out how you determine how many shims go in though.

It requires measurements with dial indicators back at the flywheel. There is a procedure but it and the measurements vary some to match the machine so you basically need the appropriate book. Memory is off at the moment but I'm thinking the IH clutch manual covers this?
