706D fuel shutoff cable ?

Son bougght a 706 german diesel a couple years ago. Fuel shutoff cable was broken so we replaced it. Replaced that cable early last fall & the 2nd cable broke during harvest. Tractor is usually used only on an auger.

The cable always breaks in the same place, right in front of where it hooks to the shut off arm on the injector pump. ny suggestions on what the problem may be? Seems like the cable really has to be pulled out far to get the fuel to shut off.

TIA

Are you useing a light choke cable?Try useing a 'real'fuel shutoff cable. My 706 needs to have the cable pulled out a long ways, too.

Look at the end of the 'cable',is it a straight pull,or is there a bend where the 'wire'leaves the sheath(conduit).

On the first cable I installed there was a slight bend when the cable was pulled to the shutoff position. On the 2nd cable I turned the cable holder upside down to give the wire a straight pull into the sheaf. I also made sure there were no sharp bends to restrict the cable movement. CIH service manager has no idea what the problem is.
