A Friend of mine purchased a F826 hydro, I haven't seen very many. How's the hydrostatic transmission's history? Looks like a german diesel. I believe the were built between 67-71. All experience greatly appreciated.

This is a rare tractor, not many made, has D358 german diesel, good engine, hydro same as 1026,1066 hydros, good designs & long life with normal servicing, pricey to fix at ohaul. Rear frame same as 756.

I've got one, love it.Yes it it has the D358 german(they are good engines). The 826 was built from 69to 71(replaced the discontinued 756diesel,a 756 gasoline was built at that time). They (hydro vertion)are rare,no one seems to know how many were made,I think fewer than the 2900 1026's that were built.Hydro's are good tractors, treat em right, there will be no problems. When in the field, put in LOW range, only use HI when on the road.A lot of guys leave htem in HI for everything and wonder why they have problems(run hot, loss off power,etc...kinda like driveing your car in hi gear in town allday)Good tractor!enjoy!
