I can get the gear shift out into N but when i release the clutch it keeps going in reverse. Any help would be helpful thanks.

The shifter lever tip in the trans is worn and has dropped out of the gear it was shifting.
Remove the lever from the trans top, and realign the gear shift rails to a common neutral. Pushing the clutch will help. Then reinstall the lever.
Welding up the worn edges of the tip, and grinding to make it tighter in the slots without binding is best. Jim
