need block heater for IH 806

I have an International 806 and I need a block heater. It really is not happy starting when it is cold- the engine has just been rebuilt and I need to have the injectors rebuilt.

There is a hose (1" or so) where I was told was a good place to install the type of heater that plumbs into the coolant circuit and it circulates by convection.

I know there are several types- freeze plug heaters, dipstick heaters, magnetic stick-on type, etc.

What would be your suggestion for an 806? I like the idea of the magnetic stick-on type as it could be moved between machines, but do they work well?

In Northern Nebraska we used engine tank heaters 1500 watts that circulated water in the block, worked really good.

We use the inline heaters here in New Mexico too. the only thin I do is put an external thermostat on so they don't come on til it gets down to about 36.
I know they are suppose to have their own but I found the external saves me a little money on the electric. LarryT

I have both inline heaters (1500 watt) on my 310 and frost plug on the 312 and 436. I prefer the frost plug, easily a quarter of time to heat the block. I also have them on timers.
