does a gas vs. a diesel starter have more cranking ability or are they the same. going to be cranking over a rd 450 thanks for any response .

The diesel starters are quite a bit larger and more powerful.

You can also use the 30MT series off a 706 or 35MT from an 806 .f you really need the cranking power. You will need to use the right drive depending on your flywheel and ring gear.
