Farmall Super C Mower Question

I have been told to buy a 6ft. belly mower for the Super C instead of tha 5 ft. one, if I can find one. I thought about just buying a rear finish mower instead. Would a 3-point hitch rear finish mower require more horsepower to run than the same size belly mower?

No because they both run off of your PTO. The only issue would be
1: If you have a 3 point
2: Do you have good enough hydraulics to lift the mower.
It would be easier if you had a bush hog because of the rear wheel taking some weight off the tractor.

You will be better off with the 6ft belley running off the belt pulley you have enough HP. How are you going to have 3pt that floats on the C

I have a homemade 3-point hitch. I think it will lift it. I shouldn't be lifting it all that much. The hitch will lift a sunflower type wheel rake. A friend of mine has a finish mower with 4 wheels on it.

Well, I already have 2 Super C's. My wife and I are buying a piece of property and I'm trying to figure out my best options for grass mowing and snow removal at the new place. I'm thinking of buying a snow blade as well. I have a sickle bar mower for the Cub.

Mine has a 6ft on it and it is fine in third gear, second if it gets too tall. I had a 6 ft 3 point on a different SC and I am getting too old to turn around and see where I am going. You just need to convince you r wife that you need a tractor for every implement!!

Well, I think have more tractors than I have implements now. I'd like to use one the Super C's for mowing and one for garden work, especially if I end up with a belly mower. I have a set of plows and cultivators for one of them.

You could get a pull benind that has four guide wheels depends on what you want to mow. For mowing yard the belley is freat as you still have the drawbar for other tasks. Just get the mount that uses the belt pulley for drive. I do have the mounts for a Woods 5ft belley drives off the belt pulley sold tractor and put mower on a B.

Could I buy a used Woods 5ft. belly mower for another tractor brand and put your mount on it to make it work on the Super C? Would that be all the mounts I need or are there front ones that have to be changed out as well? I have a belt pulley on the tractor.

I'm sure your Super C will be fine with a 6 foot belly mower. I have a Farmall 140 with a Woods L306 (6 foot belly mower) and it works just great cutting my extended yard here at the farm. After using a belly mower I don't see how they ever sell something you drag around behind you as they are so convenient to use. With everything right in front of you trimming is very simple up close to anything and sure cuts down on the weed eating when finished mowing, Hal.

They are made for the Woods either for the 59 or 72in. The I-H which was made by Danco would also work as their frames were very muich the same. My mounts do clamp on the axle housings. I have sold several of the Woods both 59 and 72 so i know the mounts i have will work for those models.

Have a Woods L59 belly mower in good condition on a Farmall C. Would consider sellng the mower. If you have an interest let me know.
