340 ? Power steering

Just got what I think is a 340 Utility international. Looks like a 460 but has a 4 cylinder engine. The power steering is leaking and I need to add hydralic fluid. Where do I add the fluid to get it working? The power steering unit is right under the dash panel I believe. The wheel is directly attached to it and then a ujoint comes out of the bottom end of it and heads off to the rest of the steering system. Would get the manual but not exactly sure which model this tractor is.

Just took some pictures of our 340U for you. You add fluid to the power steering unit separate from the hydraulics. There is a plug to the left of the steering shaft on top of the P.S. unit to add fluid.

Fallon; the power steering/fast-hitch/hydra-touch systems all drink from the same trough. My 340 Farmall hydraulic fill is on top of the tranny/shift lever case; a square, recessed-head plug. A used toothbrush lies in a drawer in the garage workbench to clean away debris from this location. I get mine open using a chisel that has a mushroomed head and I attach a vise grip to it. Wish I could tell you exactly where your fill is on your utility. My 460U shares this same location. The IH manual states 'left side' for the fill location on a 340U and shows an arrow pointing to the top of the tranny case. If said fill plug is on the horizontal surface under the gas tank, you have a 240 International - also a four cylinder engine - good luck then, as filling from this awkward location should have you asking for a third helping hand. Maybe a peek at the CaseIH on-line parts catalog searching the model 460 International could provide you with help in viewing the plug and also identifying your IH model. Hope this helps and good luck w/your project.
