just bought this little tractor. Sure had a surprise when I loaded it.

are all 300u"s this wide? My trailer fenders are 83 inches apart.

This tractor has no pto or hydraulics. Rare I suspect. A few hours of work and it is running great.

The rear chassis housing looks stock. I think the extra width comes from the wheel. It looks like there is an extension on the hub.
It almost looks like a dually without the inner.
Mayber there is something in the Parts Manual under options.

Someone will know.

Think the wheels are just bolted in the dished out position and the rims are bolted to the wheels in the wider position. Picture doesn't look like it has spin out rims.

Looks like the front wheels are on back wards and the fenders are on extensions plus I'll bet if you look the wheel centers are also set out instead of in. I know the 300U I have sitting here is just at 6 foot wide

well I agree with dellbertt

The wheels have the air valves on the inside so the rims are on the correct way.

If you look at the hubs coming out of the rear end they look very long. The fenders have been moved out six inches from stock.

I have a w400 with a loader the looks as if it also was widened the same way with hub extensions so the loader arm would not touch the wheel. It is about 4 inches longer on the hub than my w6 .

Old if you could snap a pic of your hub coming out of the rear end to get an idea of how long they are to the wheel that would be great.

After seeing the latest picture I can see the tractor doesn't have regular wheels or axle housings. Axle housings are made like the W series tractors. The cast wheels look familiar, but can't remember where I saw them before.

George,
It would be helpful if there is a part number on the rim hub.
I have never seen one like it and it woud be interesting to know what it came from.
It also could be a homemade piece.

I'm confused, guess the one picture is a W series rear axle housing. Looks like the other picture has the regular axle housings, but the cast wheels and rims are not regular 300U.

I believe mistakenly posted two different tractors.
The top photo of the housing/axle doesn't seem to correspond to the top rear photo of the tractor.
I saved both and enlarged them. I the ubolt shown on the top axle photo doesn't appear on the rear tractor photo.

Guys I am sorry.
The last two pics are of first the w400 with the extra length hub , the second of my w6 with the standard hub.
Next time I am at my shop I will try to see if there are numbers on the 300u hubs.

I think all posters are correct , the rear tires are not the stock size. I do believe this is not the only reason for the wide stance. The fender extenders tell me that the axle is not stock?

Also in this area there is a lot of irrigation. I believe this tractor was used mainly to pull pipe around. Everything seams to be in reasonable shape. The wide tract would be handy for the hills.
