2544 International 3-point lift capacity?

I have a 2544 gas hydro and am looking to mount a 3-point hitch backhoe on it. However, I don"t know the lift capacity of the 2544 and can"t find it in my manuals or online... I can easily carry around a 1500# bale with it, but the hoe I am looking at weighs 2550#. I will only be using it for odds and ends around the farm, not commercially, so as long as I can move it around the farm without breaking something on the tractor I should be fine.

Anyone know the weight capacity of the Cat 2 hitch on a 2544? Or where to find it?

Thanks!

I hate to tell you this but they rate 3 point hitches by pulling strength not lifting. a cat 3 should be pull just about anything you want to put behind it as long as you have the horse power.
The lifting capability is determined by the individual tractors hydraulic system and I have even seen some that required front weights to hold the front down with the load. I also saw a fellow break an axle housing trying to pull a stump with one. So my advice is to try loading the dead weight of the backhoe and see how the tractor carries it. I am sure there are people here who will express different ideas so take your pick but they don't rate 3 point hitches by what they can lift. LarryT

The Nebraska Tractor Test Lab has been testing 3-point LIFT capacity since 1985... see attached link/URL.

Thse simple test would be to hook up the backhoe and try as you suggested but that isn't logistically possible or I would have done that.

Thanks for the feedback.
