i have a282 that i have the head off what is the best way to remove the precups

there is a precup puller that IHC would have in their shop that the mechanics use. other than that probably just have to lube them up with penetrating oil and just keep working at them trying to get them to turn a bit with your fingers ,even tapping with a brass punch on the edge.
If you have the head off the best way is to bang them with a wooden dowel from the inside. (This is hearsay, my head won't be off for a month or so. I heard this in my research on removing the injectors)
As for the tool. It is impossible to find and it destroys your NLA precup in the removal process. I guess it fit inside the precup and then you turned something that shot out things into the side of the precup. Then you slide hammered it out from there.
I was told to leave them alone if they are all pointing down bc you could screw up too many other things messing with them. ie crack the head or have to find another precup. Not sure I am in love with the idea, but this is from a former IH field mechanic and the guy in the Red Power book referenced for MD knowledge.
