ANY BODY KNOW HOW MANY WERE BUILT and how many got sent to USA

Mike. How did you come out on finding sleeves on your B450? I sold my B450 back in the early 1980's. It was one heck of a tractor and wish that I never sold it. I have never heard of or ever seen a BMD in my part of the country. Did they use the same motor as the B450?

Larry I am still looking cant find any was wondering if super md sleaves will work. was told by old guy that his dad seen a british m back in the 50s in central IL made note that it had 3 point hitch and thought 460 560 such would have 3 point but never did when they came out.need a sleave that is 4in bore x10 in. long with od of 4.250 with lip that is .190 tall and od. of 4.475 not to sure on the 4.475 will have to measure it again any help would be appreciated

I think I posted one time that I thought thin wall sleeves out of a MD, not SMD had the same sleeve size as a B450. The MD came out with a D248 with 3 7/8" bore sleeves and you could buy thin wall sleeves with a 4" bore making it a D264. The SMD came out with 4" bore D264 and the thin wall sleeves for a SMD were 4 1/8 bore makeing it a D281. The same went for the American 400 and 450. Back years ago I ran into this problem with my B450 and ended up just putting rings in it. There was a IH dealer here in southern IL where they were trying to overhaul a B450 around 1980 and I think they tried changing the crank, rods, sleeves and pistons from a MD, maybe SMD. I remember them having it tore down with the sleeves pulled out of the block and I think they were talking about putting thin wall sleeves out of a MD in it. I don't know where you are located, but there is a guy in Mayfield, KY. who could give you the specks on MD and SMD sleeves. I know a few years ago he also had a B450 in his shop so you might give him a call for some information. 270-247-2219. Smith tire and tractor repair, ask for Steve. Larry seems like no luck on american md sleaves working they are different geuse i will give darton sleaves a call and get a price some custom work. i called steve in ky. he said he only seen ab 450 a long time ago didnt know much about them . where are you located in s il i am 8 miles west of mt vernon
