fuel bowl Vapor lock?

Took off the fuel bowl on my OS6. Gas was not flowing into it. Cleaned screen and ports where fuel enters. Flowed great. Put the bowl back on with a new gasket, old one leaked, and now no gas will flow into the bowl unless I crack it and let it leak. Almost like it has a vapor lock. Anyone else have this problem before. Its new to me.

Completely normal. The glass bowl is full of air, and the gasoline cannot displace that air. Go ahead and start the engine, and then watch the bowl fill up with gasoline.

Open the drain plug on the carb and let it flow out for a minute. My H did the same with a new sediment bowl. Also try cleaning out the fuel line

It's not a vapor lock, it is an air lock. The fuel won't flow because your carburetor and gas line are full. Start the tractor, or drain some from the carburetor drain plug and fuel will flow. This is very normal.

Worry if it doesn't do that since it is normal. Just to prove it take a drinking straw and put your finger over the end and then put it in a drink. Pull it back out and it will be empty. Put in it that same drink then put your finger over the end and pull it out and it stays full. That is what is happening to your sediment bowl and it is in fact full but not with fuel but full of trapped air and air is a sort of fluid and you can not have to fluids in the same place at the same time

thats what your supposed to do,.. is crack it and let the bowl fill up then tighten the thumb screw.
