Working on my father in laws Super A and when we took the front axle out from under it to fix the steering box we found the axle center pivot bushings are in bad shape- Case IH still has them- Part # 43455DR but they are $44/ each! Has anyone run into this and found a cheaper solution?
Thanks

Those things are pricey, but you need only one, and most likely you'll never need to buy another.

Its a shandard 1 inch bushing i dont remember the OD but the pin that goes thru is 1 in on each end and smaller between. When you look at the pin that goes thru from end to end i guess you could call it the pivot pin it is undersize just the full 1 in on each end all depends on how much side play you can live with. You mite find them where they would have ready made bushings.

I just ran into a similar issue with the governor bushing in the block. A good machine shop might actually save you a little money as well as press it in for you.

Just wondering, I have a 53 Super A and this pivot does not have a grease fitting. Can not find any hole where there could have been a grease fitting. Why?

Ours has a grease fitting. Digging into this project I found on the Case IH website they list three different front axles for the Super A- all show a grease fitting- maybe yours was broken off at one time?
