The right side roller bearing cup in the differential has some major divots/damage. I've visually inspected the other bearings in the differential and they appear OK. I've convinced myself that I need to replace the bearing cup at a minimum.
Looking for any advice:
1/ should I replace the right side roller bearing AND the cup even though the bearing looks OK?
2/ Only place I can find to order the bearing cup is www.external_link. P/N 86500721 for $63.81. Any other ideas where I can order this Timken bearing? The original Timken number for the whole bearing is 3044002R91 and it cross references to a 482/472. All my searching has not produced any US distributor where I can order it.
Best I can tell from the Timken failure analysis pics is that the bearing was exposed to water and corroded. It makes sense because I do have a leak between the differential cage and diff housing, but doesn't make sense because the other bearings appear OK.
