Update SA Governor Rebuild

Thanks to all of you who advised me on rebuilding the SA governor. I replaced all springs, bearings, seals and bushed the control rod hole in the governor case. At start-up I was a bit disappointed, however, I discovered that when I installed my new Zenith carb I put the conrol rod on so that it interfered with the carb. This limited how far open the throttle valve would go. I turned the rod 180 degrees and all was well. The governor now works just great!

Dean, I had IH redo my governor. I had had no response from my throttle until it was a third engaged, if not more.

Now, (with a much lighter wallet), I get response on the first notch. I was seriously pleased!

Mine was the same way. I had to have throttle lever at least 1/2 open before she would go off idle amd then I would have to move several notches to get it to high rpm. Now throttle lever works over the full range. The job cost me about $200 for parts and machine shop work (bore and sleeve the throttle lever port). I was worth it!

I have been rebuilding them for a while as all the A,B,and Cs i found seemed they needed it. S ure is nice to have good throttle response. I just rebuilt two yesterday so now i am ready for the next bad one.
