Locally there's a 856 that I've seen sitting back by barn. After driving by it a few times I've decided it's a gas. I am going to see if they're interested in selling it. I was woundering what the difference is in an 806 and 856? Is it gearing and PTO? Also are there any problems with the C301 gas engines? Thanks for your answers

(quoted from post at 13:38:46 01/01/11) On external_link it said it uses 6.6 gallons per hour.....ouch

That figure is what the engine will use while making maximum horsepower. If you are doing light work such as raking hay, bladeing snow, etc., you can cut that figure in half, or maybe even further.

Biggest difference between the 806 and 856 was the transmission shifting setup.

Much easier shifting gears on the 856.

Either raking of plowing with it ,it is a gas guzzler! Even with a diesel, it was very thirsty!! Not good.
