i was reading in a reprint i have of the blue ribbon repair manual about light pressed fit sleeves and heavy fit their is a serial number break at about 77000 they say this is the engine serial number can any one tell me where to find this on the block i have a 560 about 41000 tractor serial number should the engine number match i know they put 282 in alot of other stuff could the 560 have either option and is their any way to tell other than the serial number

I'm working on one out of a crawler and used the # from the head as a guide. Frm the parts manual the serial # of the head changed on the newer 560 and the 660 and crawlers. Geoff

The heavy press fit sleeeves were not used until the 706 were mid way in production so your 560 would be the light press unless new or different block has been installled. I normally fit the loose press blocks with a .002 oversize sleeve to get a nice press fit. Not extreemly tight but I push them in with a hydraulic installation tool. Will require cyl honing with rigid hone not glaze buster types. The head gasket does not seal on sleeve flange on the heavy press fit sleeve as it does with light press. Sleeve height is critical on the loose press style for gasket sealing and might possibly require shims for correction.Height is also critical on heavy press as they require special tool to install as you do not seat the flange of sleeve all way into block or you may crack sleeves.
