Can anyone advise of the best way to replace the three front bolts holding the oil pan on a 100 farmall? I got them out to replace the gasket and clean out the pan and service the oil pump and it looks like it might be a problem replaceing them. Thanks for any help. ncjohn

What type of problem?

Another question to anyone... any tips on what to do when you have an oil pump off? Pontiac had us putting wheel bearing grease in the pump for quicker pickup of the oil.

One time on my 140 I had to drip oil down the passage to fill the pump.. my dad had started to change the oil - when I went to use it I saw the drain plug was missing.

What service on the oil pump? Sand the pot metal cover plate flat and replace the gasket I hope. When I service one, I make a steel plate that fits across the area where the cover warps and the gasket blows out. So far it works.

As for the bolts, Note that there are two different lengths. Center front and back take a short bolt (don't ask how I know), and the ones on either side of center at the front and back take the longer ones as they go thru a pot metal piece and thread into the block.

Never noticed any real problem getting to the front bolts, sure it's close but put em back in with the same wrench you took em out with.
