Hdy leak on a 856

I have hyd oil leak where you fill the hdy oil. I have put o-rings on the gauge, but it still leaks. The parts book show 386450R1 for the oil fuller. Does the fuller come out of the transmission cover? I have put a new filter in the hyd. But it has been leaking before that. I have done all I know to do. Has some one else had the some problem? The book call for 3/4X1X1/8 o-ring. and I have put new o-ring on today but it still leak oil comming out the fuller tube.

Could it be possible that you have a breather vent somewhere in the system that is pluged?? Armand

The oil gauge also serves as the vent. Is the system over filled with oil?

It was on the full mark, now it is on the add mark.

Like Owen says that vent on the dipstick would be a good place to start. If that vent is impossible to clean you may have to get a new vent/dipstick assy. Some friends and I were talking about pluged vents on gear boxes this afternoon.

better to push oil out of the dipstick rather than having that pressure blow a seal as has been known to happen on truck axel and other gear box seals. Armand
