Any F12 owners out there?

Hello,

My uncle recently gave me a 1937 F12. I can push in the clutch and spin the u joint by hand and can move the shift lever throught the gears, but when I jack up the rear, I can only rotate each wheel a couple of inches. (I'm assuming this is the free play in the rear) I'll be picking it up soon, but I believe the brakes are stuck. Any tips on getting them freed up?
I also have a 1942 H, but I'm new to the F12, so if you have any tips or suggestions you'd like to pass on, that has anything to do with the F12, I'm all ears.

Thanks.

Common problem....Re move the covers, remove the large nut,use a puller AND simultainiousy work the drum off with a bar.You will probally damage the shoes, maybe even break one..but they can be repaired.

If you were to break a shoe, they are the same as on a F-20 which are fairly easy to find.
Also, when you put them back on, remember there is a front and back shoe.
If you have them resurfaces, make sure they do not put too thick a material -- that may be your current problem.
Finally, if there is any oil (from a leaking seal) drill a small hole in the bottom of the cover to let it escape.

DeltaRed and F-Dean, thank you both for the advice. I was able to coax the brake covers off today. They're both rusted away at the bottoms, so that's a red flag that there's been a whole lot of water in there, so I'm sure the shoes / drums are seized. I didn't have the correct socket for the nut, so I ran down to the parts store to pick one up for tomorrow. I was hoping they would have a large enough puller for the drum but they didn't. I will spend some more time tomorrow "coaxing" the drums off. If I don't have any luck, I'll have to build some type of dolly for it so i can get it on the rollback and bring it home.
Thanks again for your help.
